Hi, thank you for visiting my site.
FRāM (pronounced frame) was born from a desire to get back into the creative world and doing what I love...making artwork look it's best.
I have over 8 years experience as a picture framer, and was taught originally by my mother, who still to this day works from a workshop in her back garden with her partner Nev. Every wall in their home is covered with diverse pieces from all over the world.
Surrounded not only by the art growing up, but also seeing first hand the skill it takes to bring out the best in every item has been and will always be a huge inspiration for me.
I properly cut my teeth under the watchful eye of Les Lawson, of the Lawson Gallery in Cambridge. Sadly both the gallery and Les are no longer with us but his influence and attention to detail has remained with me ever since. I quite often still ask myself 'what would Les think?'
It's the perfect quality barometer!
Today FRaM brings both the skill of picture framing and the understanding of colour together. It doesn't have the be a piece of art in the traditional sense, bring your favourite scarf, and tile, a penny, a child's creation, a gorgeous piece of driftwood - anything that means something to you can be displayed on a wall to be enjoyed forever.
I'd love to hear from you so we can discuss what it is you're after. For me nothing beats the process of finding the right materials and spending time in the workshop bringing a piece of art to life. Magic.
I look forward to chatting with you soon and thanks again for popping past.
Pip
